Manuscript diary, 3 vols. of a probable 5; vols. II and III (the years 1849–1861) wanting, excised at the sewing by a contemporary hand. Ink on wove paper, half-calf. 185 × 120 mm.

Provenance: Harriet Considine (1811–1874); by descent to her niece; purchased by the Order, 1889 (receipt bound in); the 1919 Deposit.

The three surviving volumes, as last displayed. The case plaque's “Accessioned 1920” precedes the 1978 re-accessioning; its dating is not the Institute's.
